|Holston High School Business Department Receives High National Recognition||05-12-2017||
HHS Business Teachers Joy Munsey and Sammy Campbell recently traveled to New York City to be recognized by a national professional credentialing organization. Both teachers use the Working in Support of Education (W!SE) program to help their students gain a credential that gives them verified credit in their classes. The ceremony, held at the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank on April 19th, brought together the top performing schools and teachers in the nation.

Ms. Jennifer Daniel's English 11 students recently participated in end-of-the-year projects, which required each group to present a literary period from their study of American literature. Each group had 10-12 minutes to present the history, beliefs, and writing style of their assigned period.

The WCCTEC recently completed the 2017 SkillsUSA State Competitions. Nineteen students were eligible to compete in various events.
|Second Graders at WES Present Ancient Egyptian Program||05-04-2017||
Watauga Elementary second graders presented a program at the February P.T.A. meeting using the theme "Ancient Egypt". Our music teacher, Mrs. Farnum, collected several entertaining songs for the students to learn with much historical information "wrapped up" in each one. The students enjoyed donning costumes of gold, black, and white or dressing as a pharaoh, queen, farmer, or mummy.
|Holston High School FBLA Tours the World’s Fastest Half Mile||05-02-2017||
Holston High School’s Future Business Leaders of America Club visited the Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday, March 9th. Students had the opportunity to see what it takes to run a large racing facility. Mr. David Baldwin gave the students an inside tour of the track, finish line, drag way, and even a great panoramic view of the track from the Bristol Club suite.

The Wallace Middle School GATE program hosted its annual science fair on Tuesday, January 31. Forty-nine participants from sixth, seventh, and eighth grades displayed 33 projects in the school auditorium. The projects were judged by a team of three judges.
