First Graders at Greendale Have a Bubbling Good Time in Science! 03-04-2015

A mint green, foamy substance appears to be bubbling up and out of a container sitting  on a student desk in a classroom during an experiment.During our study of matter, Greendale 1st graders had the excitement of watching a glove be blown up with vinegar and baking soda. It was amazing to watch the glove suddenly take on a life of its own as a result of the gas being produced from the reaction of the vinegar and baking soda. That wasn’t the most exciting part of our experiments.

WCS Announces Kindergarten Registration and Preschool Screenings 03-03-2015

Kindergarten Registration will be held at all seven elementary schools in Washington County, Virginia on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 12:00-6:00 pm. Children who will be 5 years of age by September 30, 2015 are eligible for kindergarten enrollment. During registration, all children will be screened for instructional needs.

Glade Spring Middle School GATE Embarks on an Adventure 02-26-2015

A group of students stands on a staircase.Glade Spring Middle School sixth graders in the GATE program recently traveled to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee to visit the Titanic Museum and Ripley’s Aquarium. At the Titanic Museum, the students were taken on a tour led by "actual" passengers from the ship! The guides told the students why they were on the ship and what had happened to them.
