Abingdon High School: 2018 John Marshall Foundation Teacher of the Year Award

A teacher posing with her award posing with 2 men and another woman.On May 1st, Mary Beverly, World History and Government teacher, traveled to Richmond, to receive The John Marshall Foundation Teacher Award at the Richmond Bar Association's Annual Law Day Luncheon.

Ms. Beverly received a certificate and $2,500. Each year since 1989, the John Marshall Foundation has presented these awards to history/social studies teachers at the middle and high school level who demonstrated excellence in teaching the Constitution both inside and outside the classroom. One middle school teacher and one high school teacher is presented with this Award annually. Barbara Schneider, Director of the John Marshall Foundation's Education Programs commented that the Foundation 'had many excellent applications for this year's award, but Ms. Beverly's accomplishment just stood out among a very prestigious group from every corner of Virginia!"  Congratulations to Ms. Beverly!
